Jeff Young

Jeff began his apprenticeship as a Refrigeration mechanic in Medicine Hat, AB and spent over a year working on commercial sites completing preventative maintenances and inspecting commercial HVAC equipment. He then moved on to Saskatoon where he completed his apprenticeship education working for National Refrigeration where he was able to gain experience working on boilers and major refrigeration systems. Once he became a Journeyperson he decided to make a switch back to working primarily on HVAC systems and spent the next year working for Honeywell where he met a Journeyman Plumber, Greg Bergstrom, and in 2010, the two of them started NexGen Mechanical Inc.

With 23 years experience as an HVAC technician working with commercial and residential HVAC/R applications, Jeff has extensive experience with heating, cooling, and climate controls.

Jeff focuses on design build estimating and project management as well as providing solutions to complex problems involving HVAC issues. High quality workmanship is his standard and it is always his expectation with every project he oversees.

Greg Bergstrom

Greg began his career as a plumber with Gregg’s Plumbing and Heating in Saskatoon. He spent 6 years there gaining extensive knowledge of residential plumbing, gas fitting, and residential codes. He then moved into the commercial world working for Honeywell in Saskatoon for 2 years. It has always been a dream of Greg’s to start his own company. After meeting Jeff at Honeywell and starting NexGen he is very passionate about his career and his company.

With over 23 years as a commercial and residential retrofit installer of HVAC equipment and plumbing systems, Greg maintains current and up to date knowledge of building codes and proper installation practices and also has an extensive knowledge of existing and newly developed product lines.

In 2015, Greg relocated to Prince Albert to oversee the management of NexGen Mechanical’s branch office. With the addition of Greg to Prince Albert, NexGen has seen business growth in the city due to his ability to respond directly to the needs of customers and provide one-on-one employee training.

Chad Luedtke

Entering the plumbing trade at an early age, Chad always enjoyed working with tools and fixing things and always knew he wanted to be a tradesperson. He began and completed his plumbing apprenticeship with a local plumbing and heating company where he was able to learn service and installation of all plumbing and heating equipment.

Chad began his employment with NexGen in 2013 as a service mechanic and specialized in troubleshooting plumbing and heating systems. The management at NexGen Mechanical quickly noticed that the other journeyman and apprentices turned to Chad for guidance and he had a natural ability to assist, manage, and multi-task.

Chad is currently the project manager and estimator for all plumbing projects for NexGen Mechanical. He brings to the table his innate ability to problem solve and is always looking out for the best interests of the customer.

Scott Pack

Journeyman Refrigeration Mechanic, Bid Spec Estimator and Project Manager

Shortly after completing high school, Scott found an interest in Refrigeration while researching red seal trade programs. He then attended pre-employment refrigeration at SIAST – Kelsey campus in Saskatoon and began his apprenticeship at Frontier Refrigeration in Saskatoon. Shortly after he became a Journeyman Scott was offered an HVAC service management position at a large mechanical company and was solely responsible for growing the service division for the company. After 5 years of running the service division he moved on to become a project manager for the installation division.

Scott currently continues his estimating and project management duties with NexGen Mechanical. He brings his years of experience managing large projects as well as his professional attitude towards work. Scott maintains quality of workmanship as well as minding project timelines throughout all of his projects.

Eric Book

Journeyman Sheet Metal Technician, Sheet Metal Estimator and Project Manager

Eric is currently the project manager and estimator for the sheet metal fabrication and installation team at NexGen and his focus is always on quality products and installation.

Eric works closely with NexGen’s management team to ensure the ventilation sectors of an overall project are completed within timelines and specifications. He also coordinates the sheet metal team with project work and assists NexGen’s fabrication shop with scheduling and fabrication quality.

Eric enjoys the versatility and change of pace that comes with managing bid specific installation projects to more challenging design builds as well as utilizing his creativity with the fabrication aspect of his trade.

Logan Failler

Logan began working as an apprentice HVAC technician for NexGen Mechanical in October 2018. Starting out at NexGen in the field, Logan learned the ins and outs of HVAC systems from his teammates — from basic installations to advanced diagnostics. Logan is currently NexGen’s service manager acting as a liaison between customers and NexGen’s service team ensuring customer satisfaction and technician work quality. Logan is responsible for providing guidance to technicians on heating and cooling services, providing quotes on any required repairs, as well as provide backup for the primary contact for all HVAC and mechanical maintenance and repairs.
